Women's Swimming & Diving Places 6th at Little East Championships

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's swimming and diving team finished sixth (94 pts) at the Little East Conference Championships on Saturday at UMass Dartmouth.

Keene State won the eight-team meet with 588 points.

Freshman Christina Minich (Wellesley, Mass.) took third in the three-meter diving competition with a career-best performance of 182.20 points. 

The 200 medley relay team consisting of freshmen Taylor Brochu (Cotuit, Mass.) and Sarah Rechtiene (Southbury, Conn.), senior Renee Marcos (Lakeville, Mass.) and sophomore Nelia Borden (Fall River, Mass.) posted a season-best time of 2:02.70 to place fourth in the event.

The Bears' 400 freestyle relay squad of Brochu, Rechtiene, Borden and freshman Kristen Carey (East Taunton, Mass.) also recorded their top-time of the season finishing fourth in the event with a time of 4:02.62.

Sophomore Chelsea Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) captured fourth place in the 1,650 freestyle with a season-best time of 19:31.60.

The Bears host Gordon College on Tuesday night at six.
