Three More Swim Records Fall at NEISDA Championships

Day Two Results | One-Meter Diving Results

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- Three more school records fell for the Bridgewater State College women's swimming and diving team on Saturday during the second day of competition at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships held at UMass Dartmouth.

Sophomore Bryn Morwick (Indianapolis, IN) set a new BSC mark in the 400 individual medley as she posted a time of 4:52.60 at the trials. Morwick, who broke her own record of 4:54.00 which she set in 2007, finished in third place for the event.

Junior Jillian Coache (New Bedford, MA) also eclipsed her own school record as she posted a time of :27.46 in the 50 butterfly bettering her 2007 mark of :27.66. Coache placed fourth overall in the event.

Senior Jennifer Jackson (Randolph, MA) took third in the one-meter diving competion with a school record score of 361.85. Jackson broke Tara Dolan's previous 11-dive event mark of 347.50 points set back in 1989. 

The Bears two relay teams placed high at the championships on Saturday.  The 200 medley relay team finished in third place with a time of 1:56.81, while the 800 freestyle relay team recorded a time of 8:21.65 which was good enough for fourth place.

Coache and Morwick swam on both relay teams.  They were joined on the 200 medley relay by junior Erica Robinson (Lynn, MA) and freshman Renee Marcos (Lakeville, MA), and on the 800 freestyle relay by junior Sarah Fuller (Palmer, MA) and freshman Samantha Morrissey (Lowell, MA).

After the second day of events, the Bears are currently in fourth place with a score of 360.50 points. BSC trails Bryant University (572), Bentley College (630) and first place Keene State College (642).
