Belcher, Keller Named to United Soccer Coaches DIII All-Region Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior forward Michelle Belcher and junior defender Megan Keller have been selected to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches Division III Women’s Soccer All-Region Two Team.

Belcher and Keller are two of four members from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) to earn all-region accolades. They are joined by graduate forward Jenn Rennich and sophomore defender Jaida Cochran of Westfield State University. Belcher, Keller and Cochran are third team selections, while Rennich garnered second team honors.

Belcher led the Bears in every offensive category for the second straight season as she notched 11 goals and ten assists for 32 points. Five of her 11 goals were game winners. The Norton, Massachusetts product tied for the MASCAC lead in assists, ranked second in game-winning goals and third in scoring, and tied for third in goals.

In 56 games over three seasons of collegiate soccer, including one at Millersville University, Belcher produced 31 goals (13 GWG) and 18 assists for 80 career points. She is tied for ninth among the Bears' all-time scoring leaders with 60 points (22G, 16A).

Keller anchored the BSU defensive backfield in 2022 as the Bears posted a team goals against average of 1.33 and recorded seven shutouts in 18 games. The Northborough, Massachusetts native started 15 games and scored a goal.

In 33 games over her first two seasons in a BSU uniform, Keller has two goals and three assists for seven points.

Last month, Belcher and Keller were both selected to the All-MASCAC Team for the second straight season. They were also named to the Academic All-District® One Division III Women's Soccer Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

The BSU women's soccer team wrapped up the 2022 campaign with an overall record of 10-6-2. Seeded second in the MASCAC Tournament with a 5-1-1 conference mark, the Bears dropped a 2-1 decision to third-seeded Fitchburg State University in the tournament semifinal round.

Notes: Belcher and Keller are the Bears' first United Soccer Coaches (formerly the NSCAA) all-region selections since Kailtin Lamothe in 2008.
