Women's Soccer Falls to Keene State, 1-0

KEENE, N.H. -- Junior midfielder Katie Silegy's (Keene, N.H.) goal with just 39 seconds remaining in regulation lifted the Keene State College women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over visiting Bridgewater State University on Wednesday evening at the Owl Athletic Complex.

The host Owls improve to 11-5 on the season, while the Bears fall to 5-4-4.

With time winding down in the contest, senior midfielder Brittany Tolla (Newtown, Conn.) sent a cross into the box. Silegy collected the pass and one-timed a shot into the back of the net.

Keene held a 23-9 shot advantage for game as well as an 8-0 edge in corner kick attempts. Only three of Bridgwater State's' nine shots were on frame.

Senior goalkeeper Danielle Warhall (Spofford, N.H.) made three saves to record her 11th win of the season and fourth shutout.

BSU junior netminder Lauren DeSousa (Taunton, Mass.) turned aside nine shots in the setback.

Freshman forward Alana Vincent (Taunton, Mass.) had two of the Bears' better scoring opportunities. Vincent hit the crossbar in the 25th minute, and her shot off a free kick in the 72nd minute was cleared away by KSC freshman defender Nicole De Almeida (Nashua, N.H.).

The Bears travel to Westfield State University on Saturday for a key Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) matchup with the Owls. Game time is slated for 5:00 PM. The Owls entertain Little East Conference (LEC) rival UMass Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at one.
