Women's Soccer Battles Plymouth State to Scoreless Double Overtime Draw

PLYMOUTH, N.H. -- The Bridgewater State University women's soccer team battled Plymouth State University to a 0-0 double overtime draw on Saturday afternoon at Arold Field in Plymouth, New Hampshire.

BSU junior netminder Lauren DeSousa (Taunton, Mass.) recorded her first shutout of the season and eight overall since transferring to Bridgewater State prior to last season. DeSousa notched three saves on the afternoon.

The Bears held a 15-8 shot advantage as well as a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.

Plymouth State senior goaltender Annaliese Schmidt (Newmarket, N.H.) made seven saves to post her fourth shutout of the year. Schmidt has not been scored upon in 400 minutes of work this season.

Junior forward Nicole Simas (Dartmouth, Mass.) paced the BSU offense with five shots, while senior midfielder Hannah Kallis (Sanford, Maine) led the Panthers with four shots.

Both teams are back in action on Wednesday. Plymouth entertains the Cadets of Norwich University at 4:00 PM, while Bridgewater travels to Rhode Island College to take on the Anchorwomen at 7:00 PM.
