NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University and UMass Dartmouth women's soccer teams played to a 1-1 double overtime draw in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Cressy Field.

Freshman midfielder Maura Gonsalves (Dartmouth, Mass.) notched the equalizing goal for host UMass as she scored on a penalty kick with just 4:33 remaining in regulation time.

The Corsairs were awarded a penalty kick after a Bridgewater State foul in the box, and Gonsalves fired home her shot to tie the score.

Senior forward Jordan McDermott (East Bridgewater, Mass.) gave Bridgewater State the early lead when she converted a cross from sophomore midfielder Megan O'Leary (Whitman, Mass.) in the 13th minute.

The Corsairs outshot the Bears, 17-12. Junior Stephanie Borges (Somerset, Mass.) made six saves for UMD, while BSU junior Kristen Rowe (Burlington, Mass.) stopped five shots in 45 scoreless minutes of work.  Sophomore Kerry Condon (Whitman, Mass.) added seven stops for BSU.

UMass Dartmouth is now 7-4-1, while Bridgewater State is now 6-5-1. The Corsairs will return to action when they visit Wentworth Thursday evening. The Bears will visit MASCAC rival Salem State Saturday.
