Wrestling Competes at NEWA Futures Tournament

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Several members of the Bridgewater State University wrestling team competed on Sunday at the New England Wrestling Futures Association (NEWA) Futures Tournament hosted by Western New England University.

Freshman Hunter Logan (Braintree, Mass.) went 2-2 out of the 174-pound weight class with a 22-8 major decision over Luke Raisanen of Roger Williams University and a win by fall (4:04) over Teddy Tonna of Norwich University.

Freshman Adam Distasio (Hopkinton, Mass.) posted a 1-2 mark competing in the 125-pound weight class. Distasio earned a 12-8 decision over Geddiel Lopez of host Western New England.

Bridgewater finished in 17th place in the team standings with 4.5 points.

The Bears will compete at the NCAA Division III Northeast Regional Tournament on Saturday, March 2nd and Sunday, March 3rd at WPI.
