Chrispin Leads Wrestlng at RWU Quad

BRISTOL, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State University wrestling team went 1-2 at a quad meet hosted by Roger Williams University on Saturday at the Campus Rec. Center Field House.

The Bears (2-9) earned a 36-13 win over Plymouth State University and dropped a pair of decisions to Western New England University, 48-4, and host Roger Williams, 36-15.

Sophomore Malcolm Chrispin (Hyde Park, Mass.) was a perfect 3-0 on the day. Chrispin (19-7) posted an 8-1 decision over Nick Faraci of Western New England and followed that up with a 9-6 decision in overtime against Quincy Gates-Graceson of Roger Williams. Chrispin pinned (0:18) Plymouth State's Nick Savariego to cap off the day.

Sophomore 174-pounder Vincent Player (Duxbury, Mass.) and freshman 157-pounder Ryan Donovan (Milford, Mass.) also recorded a win by fall in the victory over Plymouth State.

Junior 184-pounder James Grover (Wakefield, Mass.) picked up two wins on the day including a 10-4 decision over Plymouth's Carlos Barrios.

The Bears are back on the mat next Saturday afternoon when they travel to New York University to take on the Violets at one o'clock and Hunter College at 2:30.
