TJ Vallee Named PWL Wrestler of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior TJ Vallee has been selected as the Pilgrim Wrestling League (PWL) Wrestler of the Week.

This marks the second straight week that a BSU wrestler has picked up the award as teammate Sean Fields (Norwalk, Conn.) earned the honor a week ago.

Vallee captured the 197-pound title this past weekend to lead the Bears' wrestling team at the CMSV Invitational hosted by the College of Mount Saint Vincent.  The Augusta, Maine native posted a record of 4-0 including a medical forfeit victory in the championship match.  He also added a first round win by fall as well as a 5-2 semifinal triumph over Christian Psomas of Ursinus.

Despite being hampered by injuries this season, Vallee has produced a record of 6-1 with nine takedowns, three escapes and one pin.

In three seasons with the Bears, Vallee's career record stands at 30-11 (.732).  He has also amassed 42 takedowns, 35 escapes and eight pins.

The BSU wrestling team will return to the mat on Sunday, January 27th, when the Bears compete at the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Dual Meet Tournament hosted by Johnson & Wales University.
