Wrestings Wraps Up 2012-2013 Campaign at NCAA Northeast Regional

WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University wrestling team competed at the first day of the NCAA Division III Northeast Regional held at WPI.

Junior TJ Vallee (Augusta, Maine) paced the Bears with a 2-2 record out of the 197-pound weight class.  After dropping a 14-3 opening round decision to eighth-seeded Prestos Hologitas of Trinity College, the unseeded Vallee recorded back-to-back pins over Andrew Cole of Oswego and Sam Kent of Norwich.  Vallee was then eliminated with a loss by fall to number six seed Joshua Roometua of Wesleyan.

Senior Sean Fields (Norwalk, Conn.) finished with a 1-2 mark competing out of the 157-pound weight closs, while sophomore 125-pounder Brett Reed (Mansfield, Mass.) also went 1-2 on the day.

The 2012-2013 season came to an end for the BSU grapplers as the Bears did not have any wrestlers advance to the second day of the regional tournament.
