BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University sophomore TJ Vallee has been selected as the Pilgrim Wrestling League (PWL) Wrestler of the Week.

A native of Augusta, Maine, Vallee posted a second place finish at the Messiah Petrofes Invitational this past weekend as he went 3-1 with a win by fall competing out of the 197-pound weight bracket.

Seeded third at the tournament, Vallee edged second-seeded Carl Korpi of Cortland State, 3-2, to advance to the 197-pound title match.  Vallee lost in the championship bout by fall to number one seed and nationally fifth ranked Jared Myhrberg of Cortland.

Through 13 bouts this season, Vallee currently owns a 12-1 record with four pins.  He leads the Pilgrim League in winning percentage (.923) and is tied for third in wins and tied for fourth in pins.

Vallee and the BSU wrestling team will host PWL rival Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday night at seven.
