BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College Bears posted a 2-1 record at a wrestling quad match hosted by Roger Williams University on Saturday afternoon.
The Bears (2-2) dropped a 26-13 match versus host Roger Williams, but then rebounded with 33-17 victory over AIC and a 24-22 win against the University of Southern Maine.
Senior captain Frank Cammisa (Danbury, CT) and sophomore Ken Francis (New Bedford, MA)both finished 3-0 on the afternoon. Cammisa registered two pins and a major decision victory in the 157-pound weight class, while Francis recorded a pin along with a pair of decisions at 133.
Junior captain Zachary Bates (Leyden, MA) went 2-0 with a win by decision in the 174-pound weight class and a pin at 184. Bates did not wrestle against AIC. Sophomore Greg Tanny (Hudson, MA) also finished 2-0 at the quad. Wrestling at 184, he posted a decision victory against Roger Williams and a pin versus AIC.
