CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Bridgewater State College
seniors John Marsh (New Bedford, MA) and
Frank Cammisa (Danbury, CT) were in action during
the first day of the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships held
at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Wrestling in the 149-pound weight class, the sixth-seeded Marsh
posted a win by fall (5:32) over Isaiah Britton of
Lycoming College in his opening bout of the tournament. Marsh
then dropped a heart-breaking 8-7 overtime decision to number three
Jason Pyle of Luther College in a match that was
decided in the first tie-breaker.
In the consolation bracket, Marsh knocked off New England rival Corey Paulish of Williams College, 7-2, to advance to the consolation quarterfinals and to earn All-American status. He will take on Justin Berns of Concordia on Saturday.
Marsh, who is 33-2 on the season, now has 108 victories in his career at Bridgewater State. He is only the second All-American in the history of the Bridgewater State wrestling program. Craig Buckley earned the honor in both 2002 and 2004.

A four-time NCAA Tournament participant, Cammisa wraps up his outstanding career at Bridgewater State with 110 wins.
