BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- In Pilgrim Wrestling League (PWL) action, the Bridgewater State College Bears dropped a 31-16 decision to visiting Roger Williams University this evening at BSC's Kelly Gymnasium.

With the dual meet victory, Roger Williams improves to 10-5 overall and 2-1 in the PWL.  Bridgewater dips to 5-10 on the season and 2-2 in league matches.

After spotting the visitors a 15-0 lead through the first three bouts, Bridgewater State responded with a pin by senior 149-pounder John Marsh (New Bedford, MA) and a 12-2 major decision victory by senior Frank Cammisa (Danbury, CT) at 157 to cut the deficit to 15-10.  Junior Ethan Raymond (Middlebury, VT) then gave BSC a 16-15 lead with a win by fall at 165.

That lead was short-lived as Roger Williams senior Chris Nadeau (Granby, CT) held on for a tough 5-3 decision over BSC junior Steve Ciaccio (West Milford, NJ) at 174 to give the Hawks the lead for good.  RWU would go on to post victories in each of the final three bouts as the Hawks pulled away for the 31-16 victory.

Prior to the match, Marsh and Cammisa were honored as part of the Bears' Senior Night festivities.  Marsh, who is the top ranked 149-pounder in New England and fourth in all of Division III, has notched 98 wins over his career and made one NCAA Division III Tournament appearance (2007).  Cammisa, a three-time NCAA Tournament participant (2007-2009), is fifth all-time in BSC wrestling history with 102 victories.

Bridgewater State is off until Saturday, February 6^th when the Bears travel to WPI for a noontime dual meet with the Engineers.  Roger Williams will compete in the NEWA-Metro Conference Challenge Duals at Williams College this Saturday starting at noon.
