Sydney Bradbury Selected to NEWBA Team of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University senior guard Sydney Bradbury has been selected to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Team of the Week.

Bradbury scored a career-high 28 points to go along with six rebounds, one assist, three steals and a blocked shot in a 71-61 MASCAC road setback to Westfield State University. The East Bridgewater, Massachusetts product also knocked down a career-best eight three-pointers against the Owls.

In 22 games this season, Bradbury is averaging 13.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals. She is also shooting 34.9% (73-209) from behind the arc and 90% (27-30) at the free throw line.

Bradbury currently leads the MASCAC in made three-pointers. She is also fifth among the conference leaders in three-point shooting percentage, eighth in assists and tenth scoring.

In 96 games over four seasons with the Bears, Bradbury has amassed 1,037 points, 353 rebounds, 229 assists, 21 blocked shots and 116 steals. She presently ranks second all-time in program history with 195 made three-pointers, fourth in three-point field goal percentage (.342) and 17th in points.

Bradbury also earned NEWBA Team of the Week honors back on December 5th.

The BSU women's basketball team wrapped up the regular season with overall record of 14-11 including a 10-2 mark in the MASCAC. The Bears are seeded second in this week's MASCAC Tournament and will host a semifinal round game on Thursday evening at 5:30.
