Kylie Grassi Named MASCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week and third time this season, Bridgewater State University sophomore forward Kylie Grassi has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

A native of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Grassi averaged 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and three assists in a perfect 2-0 MASCAC week for the Bears while shooting 48.1% (13-27) from the floor and 84.6% (11-13) at the free throw line.

Grassi notched 21 points, five rebounds, three assists, four steals and a blocked shot in a 76-59 victory over Westfield State, and added 18 points, eight rebounds, three assists and five steals in a 91-58 win on the road over Fitchburg State.

Through 18 games this season, Grassi is averaging 17.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.9 steals. She is also shooting 42.8% (101-236) from the floor and 79.8% (95-119) at the free throw line.

Grassi currently ranks second in the MASCAC in scoring and free throw percentage, eighth in both assists and field goal percentage, and tenth in blocks (0.6 bpg).

In 40 games over her first two seasons with the Bears, Grassi has amassed 515 points, 154 rebounds, 92 assists, 20 blocks and 67 steals.

Grassi also earned MASCAC Player of the Week honors on November 14th and January 16th.

The BSU women's basketball team is currently 14-4 on the season and a perfect 5-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain conference foe MCLA on Wednesday night at 7:30.
