Kylie Grassi Named MASCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University sophomore forward Kylie Grassi has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

A native of Plymouth Massachusetts, Grassi averaged 19 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears while shooting 82.4% (14-17) from the free throw line.

Grassi posted her first collegiate double-double with 13 points and a season-high 11 rebounds to go along with an assist and a steal in an 83-62 MASCAC win on the road over Worcester State University. She also tallied 25 points, eight rebounds (four offensive), two assists and a blocked shot in a 71-64 victory over Wheaton College.

Through 16 games this season, Grassi is averaging 16.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals. She is also shooting 42.1% (88-209) from the floor and 79.2% (84-106) at the free throw line.

Grassi currently ranks third in the MASCAC in scoring and free throw percentage, eighth in both assists and field goal percentage, and tenth in blocks (0.6 bpg).

In 38 games over her first two seasons with the Bears, Grassi has amassed 476 points, 141 rebounds, 86 assists, 19 blocks and 58 steals.

Grassi also earned MASCAC Player of the Week honors back on November 14th.

The BSU women's basketball team is currently 12-4 on the season and a perfect 3-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain conference rival Westfield State University on Wednesday night at 7:30.
