Caitlin Feeney Named MASCAC Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College senior guard Caitlin Feeney has been named the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Feeney was impressive in BSC's 76-45 MASCAC win over MCLA last week as she scored 23 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 5 steals.  She connected on 8 of 11 (73%) field goal attempts and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line.  The double-double was her second of the season.

Through 15 games this season the Providence, Rhode Island native is averaging 13.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.5 steals per game.  She is also shooting 51% (73-for-142) from the floor and 71% (60-for-84) at the line.

Feeney currently ranks first in the MASCAC in assists, third in field goal percentage, fourth in free throw percentage, and sixth in both scoring and steals. She is also fourth in the conference in assist to turnover ratio (+0.71).

Bridgewater State is currently 12-3 on the season and a perfect 3-0 in the MASCAC.  The Bears travel to Worcester State College on Tuesday night and then return home to take on Salem State on Thursday night.  Tip-off for both games is at 6 PM.
