Colleen Feeney Named MASCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College senior forward Colleen Feeney has been named the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Feeney averaged 24.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots a game while shooting 60% from the floor as she led the Bears to a pair of wins over Curry College and Babson College last week.

Feeney scored 25 points on 9 of 12 shooting and pulled down 11 rebounds in the Bears' 83-67 win at Curry. She then poured in 23 points (including the game-winning basket with six seconds left) to go along with17 rebounds and five blocks as the Bears knocked off Babson, 67-65.

Feeney has posted a double-double in each of Bridgewater State's first five games this season as she is averaging 19.6 points and 14.0 rebounds as well as 3.8 blocks per game. She currently has 817 career points to her credit in four seasons split between Rhode Island College and BSC.

Last Season Feeney earned MASCAC Player of the Week honors three times despite not arriving at BSC until after the first semester and playing in just 16 games.
