BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College swept a MASCAC softball doubleheader with Mass. Maritime Academy on Thursday afternoon at Alumni Park in Bridgewater.

The host Bears won the opener, 14-2, and completed the sweep with a 19-1 victory in game two.  Both ends of the twinbill were stopped in the fifth inning due to the eight-run mercy rule.

Senior outfielder Meghan Noyes (Stoughton, MA) went 6-for-7 at the plate in the doubleheader with five runs scored and four runs batted in.  Sophomores Jordan McDermott (East Bridgewater, MA) and Michaela Ferreira (Fall River, MA) each scored six runs apiece for the Bears.

Junior right-hander Tracey Sanko (Windsor, CT) picked up the win in the circle for Bridgewater State in game one as she allowed just one run on one hit over 3 2/3 innings of work.  Sanko (4-1) walked one and struck out six as she has won each of her last three starts.

Senior righty Jamie Ducinski (Duxbury, MA) went the distance for the Bears in game two as she improved to 5-8 on the season.  Ducinski gave up one unearned run on four hits with a walk and six strikeouts.
