BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the fourth time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Kevin McBirney has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

McBirney finished 43rd out of field of 229 runners to lead the BSU men’s cross country team at the 2023 NCAA Division III East Region Cross Country Championships held this past weekend at Hopkinton State Fair Grounds in Contoocook, New Hampshire. The East Bridgewater, Massachusetts native covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 26:08.28.

McBirney also earned MASCAC Runner of the Week honors on September 19th, October 3rd and October 17th for his respective performances at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, the Keene State Invitational and the Suffolk Invitatiponal.
