BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Braden Boucher (Lowell, Mass.) earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Rookie of the Year honors to highlight the Bears' three representatives on the 2022 All-MASCAC Men's Cross Country Team.

Joining Boucher on the All-MASCAC Team are juniors Conner Mackie (Ramstein-Miesembach, Germany) and Sam Steere (West Kingston, R.I.).

Boucher, Mackie and Steere helped Bridgewater State capture the team title at the MASCAC Championships held this past weekend at Stanley Park in Westfield. The Bears earned their first championship since 2019 and eighth in program history. Bridgewater also won the title in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2010 and 2012.

Mackie was the Bears top runner at the meet as he covered the eight-kilometer course in a career-best time of 27:47.41 to place fourth overall. Boucher placed sixth with a career-best time of 27:51.04, while Steere crossed the finish line in a season-best time of 27:55.82 to finish eighth.
