BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Kyle Ackroyd has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Ackroyd placed 112th out of field of 242 runners at the 2022 NCAA Division III East Region Men's Cross Country Championships held at Bowdoin College this past weekend. The Charlestown, Rhode Island native covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 29:12.1 as he helped the Bears finish 20th in the team standings.

The BSU men's cross country team has picked up four MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors this season. Ackroyd also earned the accolade back on September 20th, while classmate earned the Rookie of the Week award on September 6th and November 1st.
