Men's Cross Country Places 5th at 49th Annual Codfish Bowl

DORCHESTER, Mass. – Senior Justin Lucier (Attleboro, Mass.) placed 11th out of a field of 119 runners to lead the Bridgewater State University men's cross country team at the 49th Annual Codfish Bowl held at Franklin Park.

Lucier covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 27:18. Matt Jacobson, who ran unattached, won the race with a time of 26:30.

Sophomore Mike Hutchinson (Leominster, Mass.) was next across the line for the Bears as he placed 33rd overall with a time of 28:50.  Hutchinson was followed by freshman Dylan Lynch (East Taunton, Mass.) in 36th place (29:03).

The Bears finished fifth in the team standings. Division II Stonehill College captured the team title followed by Division II Merrimack College in second place and Westfield State University in third.

After a week off, members of the BSU cross country teams will compete at either the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University or the NEICAAA Championship held at Franklin Park on Saturday, October 7th.
