BRISTOL, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State University men's cross country team placed fifth at the season-opening Roger Williams Invitational held on Saturday at Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Freshman Joseph Keough (Walpole, Mass.) was the Bears' top runner as he covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 16:12. Keough finished 32nd out of a field of 144 runners.
Junior Justin Lucier (Attleboro, Mass.) was next across the line for the Bears as he placed 34th with a time of 17:28. Lucier was followed by senior Mark Waller (Andover, Mass.) who checked in at 38th overall (17:35).
Sophomore Joseph Kisamore (Attleboro, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' top 50 performers as he placed 42nd with a time of 17:40.
Damon Kilgore of Gordon College captured the individual championship with a time of 16:12, while Brandeis University won the team title.
After a weekend off, the Bears will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, September 19th.
