Stephen Wahome Named MASCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Stephen Wahome has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Wahome posted an eighth place showing at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University this past weekend.  The Lowell, Massachusetts native covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 26:20.36 as he helped the BSU men’s cross country team finish sixth in the team standings.

Last season, Wahome earned All-New England honors with a fourth place finish at the Division III New England Men’s Cross Country Championships and qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships.   He was selected as the MASCAC Runner of the Week for his performance at the New England regional meet, and garnered All-Conference honors with a third place showing at the MASCAC Championships.

Wahome and his teammates will compete at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut.
