WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Led by senior Stephen Wahome (Lowell, Mass.), the Bridgewater State University Bears placed 22nd in the team standings at the New England Division III Men's Cross Country Regional held at Stanley Park in Westfield.
Wahome finished 49th overall as he covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:58.00. Sophomore Dallas O'Brien (Mansfield, Mass.) was next across the line for the Bears in 113th place (27:17.54), followed by junior Andy Sukeforth (Middleboro, Mass.) at 123 (27:26.29) and freshman Mark Waller (Andover, Mass.) at 141 (27:42.34).
Middlebury College captured the team championship with Bowdoin College, Bates College, Williams College and Tufts University rounding out the top five. Bowdoin's Coby Horowitz won the individual title as he placed first with a time of 24:51.36.
