Men's Cross Country Places 6th Place at James Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's cross country team placed sixth in the 17th Annual James Earley Invitational held at Stanley Park in Westfield on Saturday.

It was the largest ever field for the annual invitational as Westfield is also hosting the NCAA Division III New England Regionals on November 10th.

Senior Stephen Wahome was Bridgewater's top runner, finishing eighth in 26:20.36. He was followed by classmate David Phipps (12th), junior Andy Sukeforth (35th), sophomore Dallas O'Brien (57th) and freshman Mark Waller (94th).

Middlebury College ran away from the field of 40 men's teams and 430 runners by scoring 23 points. Middlebury was led by senior Jack Davies, who crossed the finish line first in 25:40.96 on the 8,000 meters course.

Amherst was second with 111 points, followed by Connecticut College (140), WPI (154), Coast Guard (155), Bridgewater (182) and Westfield (242).
