Wahome Leads Men's Cross Country to Tri-State Invitational Title

LINCOLN, R.I. – The Bridgewater State University men's cross country team placed first at the Tri-State Invitational hosted by CCRI on Saturday morning in Lincoln, Rhode Island.

BSU senior Stephen Wahome (Lowell, Mass.) posted a second place finish to help the Bears' capture the men's team title. Wahome completed the eight-kilometer course in a time of 27:33 as he was second only to meet champion Robert Allen (27:03) of host CCRI.

Next across the line for the Bears was sophomore Dallas O'Brien (Mansfield, Mass.) who placed third in 28:00.  Junior Andy Sukeforth (Middleboro, Mass.) followed in fourth place (28:01), while freshman Mark Waller (Andover, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' four top ten finishers as he grabbed the seventh spot (29:19).

To round out the team standings, Wheaton College finished second and Worcester State University was third followed by CCRI in fourth place, Mitchell College in fifth and Mount Ida College in sixth.

Next Weekend, the Bears will compete at the James Early Invitational hosted by Westfield State University.
