Men's Cross Country Places 9th at Conn. College Invitational

WATERFORD, Conn. – Junior Stephen Wahome (Lowell, Mass.) posted a 16th place finish to lead the Bridgewater State University men's cross country team at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday.

As a team, the Bears placed ninth at the meet which was held at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut.  Southern Connecticut State captured the team title followed by host Conn. College and The College of New Jersey in second and third respectively.

Wahome recorded a time of 26:33 over the eight-kilometer course.  Classmate David Phipps (Attleboro, Mass.) was next across the line for the Bears in 24th place with a time of 26:41.  He was followed by senior Jeff Sousa (North Dighton, Mass.) in 61st place (27:55) and freshman Dallas O'Brien (Mansfield, Mass.) who finished 64th (28:05).

After a week off, Bridgewater will compete in the MASCAC/Alliance Championships hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday, October 29th.
