BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Led by junior David Phipps (Attleboro, Mass.), the Bridgewater State University men's cross country team placed tenth at the Codfish Bowl Invitational hosted by UMass Boston and held at Franklin Park in Dorchester.

Phipps covered the eight-kilometer course in a team-best time of 26 minutes and 47 seconds to finish 20th overall.

Classmate Stephen Wahome (Lowell, Mass.) was the next harrier across the line for the Bears as he posted a time of 27:11 to place 39th, while freshman Dallas O'Brien (Mansfield, Mass.) finished 85th with a time of 28:22. 

Bates College won the men's team title while Boston University finished second followed by Stonehill College in third.
