Stephen Wahome Named MASCAC Men's Cross Country Co-Runner of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore Stephen Wahome has been selected as the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Cross Country Co-Runner of the Week.  Wahome shares the honor this week along with Fitchburg State junior Chris Kibler.

Wahome took home top individual honors at the season-opening Roger Williams Invitational on Saturday as he completed the 5k course in 16 minutes and ten seconds.  The Lowell, Massachusetts native helped the Bears tie for third place in the team standings.

Last season, Wahome captured all-conference honors at the MASCAC Cross Country Championships with a fourth place finish.  He was also the MASCAC champion in the 3,000 meter-run during the indoor track season and earned All-New England Alliance status with a second place finish in the same event.

Wahome and the Bears’ cross country teams will head to the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday which is expected to get underway at 10:30 AM.
