Wahome Leads Men's Cross Country to 4th Place Finish at Early Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Sophomore Steven Wahome (Lowell, Mass.) posted a  ninth place finish to lead the Bridgewater State University men's cross country team at the James Early Invitational on Saturday.

Wahome covered the 8k layout in a time of 26:24.85.  Sophomore David Phipps (Attleboro, Mass.) was next across the line for the Bears as he placed 21st with a time of 27:06.75.  Junior Bill Taft (Hanson, Mass.) and senior Ryan D'Arcangelo (Norfolk, Mass.) finished 28th (27:21.51) and 29th (27:25.58) respectively to round out BSU's top runners.

Vassar College captured the team title followed by host Westfield State in second place and Trinity College in third.  Bridgewater finished fourth in the team standings.

Freshman Chris Burnett of SUNY Delhi won the individual title with a time of 25:40.48.
