Men's Cross Country Places 21st at New England Regional

PORTLAND, Maine -- The Bridgewater State College men's cross country team raced to a 21st place finish at the NCAA Division III New England Regional held at Southern Maine on Saturday.  Freshman Stephen Wahome (Lowell, MA) led the Bears in 78th place, finishing the 8,000-meter course in 27:01.9.

Sophomore Bill Taft (Hanson, MA) followed up Wahome as the second-highest finisher for the Bears as he posted a time of 27:20.8 for 95th place. Freshman David Phipps (Attleboro, MA) finished 134th in 27:58.1, while sophomore Jeff Sousa (North Dighton, MA) was 151st in 28:16.1.

Williams College was the overall winner, taking first out of 48 teams. Williams' senior Edgar Kosgey captured the individual title with a time of 25:16.2 as he edged senior Daniel Murner of Amherst College (25:16.7) by half a second.
