Bill Taft Leads Cross Country Teams at UMD Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass, -- The Bridgewater State College cross country teams competed at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday afternoon.  The BSC women posted an 18th place finish while the men's team placed 19th in their respective races.

Sophomore Bill Taft (Hanson, MA) was the top finisher for the Bears as he placed 37th overall out of a highly competitive field.  Taft, the reigning MASCAC Runner of the Week, completed the five mile course in a time of 25 minutes and 46 seconds.

Freshman Stephen Wahome (Lowell, MA) was the next runner across the finish line for the Bears as he posted a time of 26:20 to finish in 64th place.

On the women's side, sophomore Sarah Lagasse (Rehoboth, MA) was the top BSC harrier as she ran the five kilometer course in a time of 20 minutes and 12 seconds.  Lagasse was the 82nd runner to cross the finish line.

Keene State College captured the men's team championship , while MIT was the women's winner.
