BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Alex Huynh has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week.
Huynh Placed fifth in both the high jump and long jump at the Suffolk Relays held this past weekend at The Track at New Balance. The Stoughton, Massachusetts product recorded a personal-best leap of six feet, 4.75 inches (1.95m) in the high jump and posted a career-best long jump mark of 22 feet, 4.5 inches (6.82m).
The Suffolk Relays featured student-athletes from all three NCAA divisions as well as members of track clubs and unattached athletes.
Huynh currently ranks 15th in all of Division III in the high jump and second in the East Region. He is also 34th in all of Division III in the long jump and third in the East Region.
The MASCAC Rookie of the Week honor marks the second of the season for Huynh. He also picked up the rookie of the week accolade back on December 10th.
The indoor season continues for the BSU track & field teams on Saturday as the Bears travel to Tufts University for the Branwen Smith-King Invitational.
