BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Chigozie Adigwe has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Adigwe placed third in the 60-meter hurdles (first among DIII student-athletes) with a finals time of 8.41 seconds at the season-opening Early Bird Invitational held this past weekend at The Track at New Balance. The Lowell, Massachusetts product also finished 36th in the 200-meter dash (23.60) at the meet which featured competition from all three NCAA divisions as well as track clubs.

Adigwe currently ranks third in the East Region in the hurdles and 20th in all of Division III.

The MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week honor marks the tenth of Adigwe's career and third indoor distinction.

The BSU men's indoor track & field team is off until Saturday, January 11th when the Bears compete at the Suffolk Invitational held at The Track at New Balance.
