BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Stephen Spofford has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Spofford placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.49 seconds on Sunday at the USATF New England Indoor Track & Field Championships held at Harvard University. The Chelmsford, Massachusetts product also finished eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.81 seconds. 

Spofford, who also earned MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week honors on December 12th and January 30th, currently ranks 11th in the East Region in the 200 and 14th in the 400.

Qualifying members of the BSU track & field teams will compete next Sunday at the Division III New England Championships held at The Track at New Balance.
