BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Jordan Rivera-Silva has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

Rivera-Silva finished 21st in the 400-meter dash (50.10) and 23rd in the 200-meter dash (22.66) this past weekend at the Kennesaw State University. The Attleboro, Massachusetts product was making his collegiate outdoor debut.

Rivera-Silva, who also earned MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors three times during the indoor season, currently ranks ninth in the East Region in the 400 and 22nd in the 200.

The BSU men's outdoor track & field team with compete on Saturday at the Amherst Spring Fling hosted by Amherst College.
