BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore Michael Neitlich has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

Neitlich garnered All-New England honors in the 600-meter run as well as the 4x400-meter relay this past weekend at the Division III New England Indoor Track & Field Championships held at The Track at New Balance. The Middleboro, Massachusetts product crossed the finish line in a career-best time of 1:22.87 to place seventh in the 600. He also ran a leg on the Bears' eighth place 4x400 relay squad along with Jordan Rivera-Silva, Stephen Spofford and Charles Dakai. The foursome posted a time of 3:23.05.

The Bears' 4x400-meter relay team currently ranks eighth in the East Region.

The MASCAC Rookie of the Week honor marks the first of Neitlich's career.
