BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Kevin McBirney has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

McBirney placed fourth in the 1,500-meter run with a PR of 3:54.85 to earned All-New England honors this past weekend at the Division III New England Championships held at Mount Holyoke College.

McBirney currently ranks 11th in the East Region in the 1,500.

The MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week honor marks the seventh of McBirney's career. He also earned MASCAC Runner of the Week accolades four times this past fall during the cross country season.

Qualifying members of the BSU men's track & field team will compete later this week at the NEICAAA Championships hosted by the College of the Holy Cross
