BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week and fourth time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Kevin McBirney has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

McBirney captured the meet title and earned All-NEICAAA honors in the 800-meter run this past weekend at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships held at The Track & New Balance. The East Bridgewater, Massachusetts product posted a winning 800 time of 1:54.04 at the meet which featured competition from all three NCAA divisions.

McBirney finished the indoor season ranked 13th in the East Region in the 800.

The MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week honor marks the fifth of McBirney's career. He also earned MASCAC Runner of the Week accolades four times this past fall during the cross country season.
