BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Jason Dann has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Dann broke his own school record in the hammer throw and won two field events this past weekend at the Tufts University Sunshine Classic. The Reading, Massachusetts product outdistanced the field in the hammer with a toss of 174 feet (53.04m) as he eclipsed his previous BSU mark of 172 feet, seven inches (52.60m) set earlier this season at the Kennesaw State Invitational.

Dann also earned the meet title in the discus throw with a PR of 149 feet, 11 inches (45.70m), and finished eighth in the shot put with an outdoor PR of 42 feet, nine inches (13.03m), as he helped the Bears finish third in the team standings at the meet.

Dann currently ranks fourth in the East Region in the hammer, fifth in the discus and 21st in the shot.

The BSU outdoor track & field teams travel to Westfield State University on Friday for the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championships.
