CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's track & field team competed on Sunday at the USATF New England Indoor Track & Field Championships held at Harvard University.

Senior Exondus Barnes (East Providence, R.I.) captured the high jump title with a leap of six feet, three inches (1.88m).

Senior Thomas Barinelli (Tewksbury, Mass.) placed third in the 60-meter hurdles (8.81) and fifth in the high jump (6'0"/1.83m).

Freshman Jordan Rivera-Silva (Attleboro, Mass.) placed third in the 200-meter dash (22.56) and fifth in the 400-meter dash (50.78). Rivera-Silva's time in the 200 marked a PR.

Junior Stephen Spofford (Chelmsford, Mass.) finished third in the 400 (50.49) and eighth in the 200 (22.81).

Graduate student Corey Stalters (Norton, Mass.) placed third in the shot put (48'4.25"/14.74m) while senior Jason Dann (Reading, Mass.) was third in the weight throw (53'7.75"/16.35m).

Senior Jonathan Quigley (Haverhill, Mass.) checked in at fourth in the weight throw (49'11.5"/15.23m) and sixth in the shot put (44'1.25"/13.44m). Senior Leo Lopez (Haverhill, Mass.) finished fifth in the weight throw (48'11.75"/14.93m) while senior Nathaniel Packer (Tisbury, Mass.) was sixth in the weight throw (46'0"/14.02m) and seventh in the shot put (42'8.25"/13.01m).

Graduate students Jacob DeAndrade (Taunton, Mass.) and Mason Matias (New Bedford, Mass.), sophomore Michael Neitlich (Middleboro, Mass.) and senior Michael Young (Shrewsbury, Mass.) also placed in the top ten for the Bears. DeAndrade placed ninth in the 200 (22.85) and tenth in the 60-meter dash (7.14), while Matias was sixth in the 200 (22.72), Neitlich seventh in the 400 (51.13) and Young tenth in the 200 (22.86).

Qualifying members of the BSU track & field teams will compete next Sunday at the Division III New England Championships held at The Track at New Balance.
