BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University junior Corey Stalters has been selected as the 2022 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III East Region Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year.

Stalters is currently ranked third in all of Division III in the javelin. The Norton, Massachusetts product captured the javelin crown at five meets this season including both the MASCAC Championships as well as the Division III New England Championships. He also took third place and topped all DIII competitors at the NEICAAA Championships with his school record and season-best toss of 218 feet, 11 inches (66.74m).

Stalters is the only student-athlete in BSU track & field history to throw the javelin 200-plus feet. He eclipsed the 200-foot mark in each of his last five meets of the 2022 season and set the school record in the event on four separate occasions.

Stalters will compete in the javelin at the 2022 NCAA Division III Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The three-day national championship meet gets underway on Thursday, May 26th.
