BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Corey Stalters has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Stalters won the New England title in the javelin this past weekend at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Williams College. The Norton, Massachusetts native recorded a mark of 203 feet, six inches (62.03m) to easily outdistance the field as he helped the Bears finish ninth in the team standings at the championship meet.

Stalters currently ranks sixth in all of Division III in the javelin.

Qualifying members of the BSU outdoor track & field teams will compete at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships held on Friday and Saturday at Bryant University.
