BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the fifth time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Matthew Lighten has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Lighten competed in two events last week at the 2022 NCAA Division III Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The Dalton, Massachusetts product finished 19th in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.80 seconds. He also posted a preliminary time of 21.67 seconds in the 200-meter dash to finish 20th in the event.
