BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Jacob DeAndrade has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

DeAndrade captured the New England title in the 100-meter dash with a finals time of 10.78 seconds this past weekend at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Williams College. The Taunton, Massachusetts product also placed third and earned All-New England honors in the 200-meter dash with a career-best outdoor time of 21.99 seconds as he helped the Bears finish ninth in the team standings at the championship meet.

The MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week honor marks the eighth of DeAndrade's career and fourth outdoor distinction.

Qualifying members of the BSU outdoor track & field teams will compete at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships held on Friday and Saturday at Bryant University.
