BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Exondus Barnes has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Barnes captured top honors in both the long jump and the high jump this past weekend at the 36th Annual Eastern Invitational. The East Providence, Rhode Island native posted a career-best mark of 23 feet, 4.5 inches (7.12m) in the long jump and recorded a leap of six feet, 2.75 inches (1.90m) in the high jump.

Barnes currently ranks 16th in all of Division III in the high jump and first in the East Region. He is also fifth in the East Region in the long jump.

The MASCAC Field Athlete of the Week accolade marks the 11th of Barnes' career and sixth outdoor distinction.

The BSU outdoor track & field teams host the MASCAC Championships on Saturday at Swenson Field.
