BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week, Bridgewater State University freshman Chigozie Adigwe has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week.

Adigwe won the MASCAC individual title in both the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles this past weekend at the 2022 MASCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Swenson Field. The Lowell, Massachusetts product posted a time of 15.01 seconds in the 110 hurdles and 59.77 seconds in the 400 hurdles as he helped lead the Bears to their fourth straight MASCAC outdoor crown.

Adigwe currently ranks 32nd in all of Division III in the 110 hurdles and seventh in the East Region. He is also tenth in the East Region in the 400 hurdles.

The MASCAC Rookie of the Week honor marks the seventh of the 2021-2022 academic year for Adigwe who also earned the accolade three times during the indoor track & field season.

Qualifying members of the BSU outdoor track & field teams will compete at the Division III New England Championships held on Friday and Saturday at Williams College.
